D FA lens with full performance on new K1?

Hi there, does anybody know, if
SMC Pentax-D FA 100mm F2.8 Macro WR

will most likely deliver 24x36mm pics on the new FF sensor?

Thanks and Happy Holiday!

It is a full frame lens and works great on film. No reason why it shouldn't be fully compatible with the new K-1.

Yes, it's a full-frame lens.

To back that claim up somewhat, reviews of that lens on for example a K-5 highlight near imperceptible vignetting on APS-C, even wide-open.

Yup, it's certainly designed for it.

Only thing I can think of is that maybe it's not designed to cover 24x36 + the amount that the sensor can move due to SR.

Has this been a problem for adapted Pentax lenses on the Sony A7 II?

Not that I'm aware of.

Here are a couple of flower shots with the DFA 100 macro WR shot on a *ist film camera. The scans aren't great, but it does cover the "full frame."

...which possibility of course applies to any pre-digital Pentax lens. However, with this lens, it's probably less of an issue because macro lenses are often used with a tripod, so SR will be switched off.

Ricoh/Pentax already said that all K lenses will work... so.. ofcourse this lens will work too, as same as all the other K (crop or not)

The D FA series is, by definition, designed for 24mm x 36mm, digital sensors. FA = 24mm x 36mm; D = digital.

Digitalis just responded to me on another thread the K-mount FF lens image circled is +45mm. I don't KNOW that's enough for SR but ........ 36x24.

So, diagonally, that gives a gap of 0.867mm either side, for SR to work within, which I would have thought was plenty of room. Nonetheless, that 45+mm I presume is the throat mask on the K-mount, and the question that's been raised here (ad infinitum) is whether or not every K-mount lens will produce an image circle to match it.

The minimum diameter of an image circle to cover a sensor would be the length of the diagonal of the sensor. Using Pythagoras' Theorem the hypotenuse of a right triangle with legs 24 × 36 mm would be ~43.27 mm.

See! There you guys go doing all that technical science stuff I was talking about on the other thread. Meh! I just want a Pentax camera that registers the entire image circle of all these lenses I have!!
