Are you suggesting something about the viewfinder?

Not at all, just that I would think that such a thing will be made available to the Kerrowdown for use with his Ladies.

There is a lot of denial going on here.

$7000 for a Pentax 645Z

$1,000 for a Pentax K3ii

$4,000 for a Pentax Full Frame. Price dead center in the middle.

Reckon I'm never going to "need" a FF, then!

More like $3,800, and then pentax price drops of 50% makes it $1,900. If only

Don't make plans according to such wild and baseless speculation. You need FF!

But you can buy a 645D for $3,400.

Haha take everything everyone on this forum says (including me) with a grain of salt..

As the reality is no one who is privy to actual pricing knows.. yet 4000 USD for this FF body is outrageously out of the current FF pricing -- even the d810 is currently going for 2800 USD street. Sure, the D4s is still around 6k but that body is niche to lowlight action.. same with the 1dx.

So it is pretty safe to say this body will be at or under 3k street even at launch. Where exactly is unknown though to anyone posting here.. but it would seem obvious (to me) that they will want to not stray too far from "competing" bodies (5diii d810/d750).

That said, if Ricoh keeps the current pricing as they have with their APS-C and somewhat to their MF bodies, the price could diminish fairly quickly (a year or two tops). Immediate buyers upon release pay the "got to have it now" tax. It pays to wait if you use Pentax and want a bargain

Everything I have said is also pure BS. Speculation at its finest!

But I keep reading posts where people seem to expect the price of a FF Pentax to be below the current price of the 2 year old Nikon D810. I have to say that I believe that they are dreaming.

Pentax has built a terrific APS-C camera that is easily the equal to anyone else's. Their 645Z is also the best in its small market. There is no reason to believe that their FF will be any less than right at the top of the game.

If that is true then why does everyone expect it to come in at a bottom of the heap price?

Currently the D810 IS still top of the game (outside of the aforementioned niche bodies) for DSLRs. It is not bottom of the heap.

A rep told a Pentaxian last month the price was looking to be around 2400 USD anyways. And Pentax prices to bargain side of things.. 4k USD street seems ridiculous to me. For 4k dollars one can buy a d810 AND the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8. Sub 3k is more inline with the rest of the market as prices are generally trending lower. But we will see in just a few months.

My recent infos from people "in the know" point to 2000 - 2500, but the exact price is not settled yet.

I guess around 2600 $, but I wont buy it until it costs less then 1500, even if it takes years. Unless I get a surprise large salary increase.

Aye, but generally for things like this; the real world exchange rate (UK price vs US price) £1=$1.

A quick k3 body price comparison: B&H (US)$649 vs Wexphotography (UK) £659.
