The new FX must be below 2K, otherwise ...

Considering a Nikon D750 at 1400 (gray market), certified sellers around $1800, any price above 2K would kill the sale!
Though I still have several lenses, price definitely would be a BIG BIG factor for me to stay or out!

Yes, but when it comes out, compare the specs and it will be worth over twice the amount of a D750.
The D750 had a entry price of $2300.

When you look at the poll, most people are saying around $2400 MSRP which seems likely.

MSRP around 2K5 is fine, but the sale price should be around 2000-2200, otherwise most people must hesitate a lot.

a) The D750 came out one and a half years ago. Are you really comparing street prices for an established camera towards the end of its product cycle with launch prices of a new product?

b) According to what a certain Pentax ambassador has been telling us over and over the K1 will be a model aimed at professionals. So don't expect it to be below $2,000.

I don't expect the MSRP to be below 2K, could be 2699 something.
But in half a year, the street price should be around 2K, otherwise...

The K-1 must be priced below $150, because I found a broken 5D on e-bay for that price. It doesn't matter that I'm comparing a brand new camera at launch price with a broken old model. I'm an internet expert and I'm claiming that Pentax is doomed if they do otherwise!

I truly hope that $2400 won't turn into €2700 (or even more) in Europe. I'm fed up with having to pay this special European overcharge.

The initial estimated price (leaked over the Interned, but nobody noticed ) was lower than €2700. I'm not sure if it's still up to date though.

On the first one. You can't blaim Nikon for this. Pentax should have come with this camera at the 2014 Photokina and then it would be On the market now for 14 months. Still Pentax has to compete with everyone else in the market. So yes, prices for competitors offerings do influence prices for Pentax products.

Since we're comparing Pentax FF to Nikon's FF, when the K1 is released it'll probably be priced around $2600, similar to Nikons Df.
Although the price is going to drop after a few months.

You're all inhaling. D750. Df. Meh.

Comparison product is whatever is coming to replace a D810. List Price will target a little below D810 replacement, and will be steady longer than we think. They don't need to sell 100,000 of them to be profitable.

If you're thinking of a D750, why not just buy a K-3? They are both 24 MP, the K-3 has a faster burst, and more reach using the same lenses. Sure there ae advantage so D750, better AF, slightly better IQ. Since the Pentax FF is at least 36MP, it's in a whole different class than the D750. It's more of a D810, and there are tons of Nikon shooter who prefer a D810 to a D750. Or in short, your analysis is seriously flawed.

The K-3 is fine for wildlife etc. what I'm looking for in the K-1 is more resolution for landscape. And, I've yet to convince myself I even need that. IN many ways a D750, is just a K-3 that costs a lot more money, and for wildlife, is just not a better deal. For every advantage to the D750, there's an equally compelling disadvantage.

FX is Nikon' stupid proprietary name for full frame. There will be no Pentax FX.

Under $2000 seems very unlikely, given what we know so far about the body. While I'm sure the price will be competitive, I think Pentax has other key selling points in mind.
