Tethered Shooting

I wonder if there will be a tethered shooting option for the new Pentax pro camera K-1 FF.
This is where Pentax is lacking behind competition IMO.
Today tethered shooting is very commonly used in studios. A pro camera should be useable in the studio, don't you think?

There must be better options than the Flu Card...

Regards
Jens

The 645Z and 645D do support wired tethering. Hopefully that support will be extended to the FF...

I'd be willing to bet that it will, since it would be kind of embarrassing for a FF not to support tethering these days.

Indeed. Pentax have had LOTS of time and opportunity to make this work with the K-1. Let's hope it happens.

This is something that the K1 needs to offer in order to get into the fashion pro market... most pro studios do wired tethering to Lightroom and for some thats a game changer when they pick a camera.

My guess is that it will have it.

It's embarrassing that the K-3 doesn't support tethering.

It's pretty much standard nowadays for product, fashion, food, etc. and even in outdoor setups. It would be remarkable for a new FF if it couldn't tether, even though Pentax is focussed more towards landscape/nature where it's not so much a topic.

I always wondered if this is something because of hardcore.. or if is a software issue?? K3 could be an even greater camera if we could use it with Lightroom

Seems it does have wired tethered functionality according to the feature comparison on PentaxForums:

Seems like Pentax just didn't bother. There is a version of PK_Tether that works with the K-3, I have tried it.

Yes, there may even be two Pentax made wired tethering options, using the wired tethering tools made available for the 645Z - the Image Transmitter 2 software, and the free Pentax 645Z Lightroom plugin.
