I won't. When I get the K-1, I will gift my K-5 to a friend and keep the Fuji X-T10 as the compact walkaround body. Those two will be a perfect match. I will, however wait a little with the K-1. 1st, need to wait for a prism focusing screen to become available. 2nd, will wait till all the kinks are worked out (no need for oil on sensor and other stuff)

K-1 is on order, once it is here and tested I will see about the k-3. Will either keep K-3 as my backup or sell it on and rely on the Sony RX 100 III for a small camera. I've always kept two bodies so the assumption is that Iwill keep the k-3, but I might change my mind.

I will use the K-3 with longer lenses in particular the DA* 60-250mm and FA* 400mm. It is a much lighter outfit and easier to handle than the K-1 with, say, the D FA 150-450mm.

A similar argument holds at the wide end where I probably will use the K-3 with the DA 12-24mm F4 rather than the K-1 with the D FA 15-30mm F2.8. But the jury is still out on this one until I get to handle the K-1/15-30mm combo and evaluate the IQ.

The K-1 will get to enjoy my newly acquired D FA 28-70 and my legacy primes (mostly FA-series, some A-series) from 15mm to FA 135mm. I'm particularly looking forward to using my FA 20mm F2.8.

Don't see that happen anytime soon. For now, my bases are more than covered by APS-C. Looking forward to some advanced features, like 5-axis SR, LCD-overlay OVF, and improved AF trickling down to any further K-3 successors that will hopefully materialize. To my mind, APS-C remains the best compromise between image quality, versatility, portability and, well, price.

The big deal breaker though is its weight. At 1010g including batteries it is heavier than even a Nikon 810E (980g).

That makes me a fence sitter right now.

I am also wondering how much better is its astrotracer, timelapse and autofocus implementation vs the k3ii. It would have to be significant given the weight of it for an outdoor photographer like me.

I've been using FF for indoor and low light work. I did notice difference in some qualities between a 16MP FF (Df D4) and 16MP (K5) crop, then 16MP FF and the 24MP (K3) crop. The K3 has been better for tele work and I like the colours Pentax produces in good light. I struggle with noise with the K3. Cramming more pixels into a space does have drawbacks but each format gets better with each new release.

My own experience is it's not just a MP issue. I'll be curious to see more about the K1 sensor output.

The K-3 will still outperform the future K-1 crop mode. K-3 burst rate = 8.3 FPS 24Mpixels , K-1 FPS 6.5 15Mpixels. At the moment, unless you get an expensive and bulky camera such as the D5 or 1Dx , you can't have both speed and high resolution. Consumer grade full frame is better suited at photographing static subjects eventually in low light.

Either my Leica or one of my kidney has to leave (maybe the latter), but not my K3 when I get an FF Pentax.

I'm trying to exercise self-restraint not to order the K1 at the moment, as the logical part of me thinks that I should wait for the K1 Mark II.

Still, since time immemorial, the best way to eliminate temptation is just to give in.

I'm very happy with my K5IIS. If I leave APS-C, I will be more likely following a lighter path (Olympus is tempting). On the heavy side, going shooting with a K1 with my K 28, 50 and 135 lenses would be quite appealing.

One of my main reasons to buy a FF is the shallow dof you can get with wide angle shots. I'd love to put my fa31 on it.
I also liked the output of the DA70 from what i've seen sofar..

My k3 would get the preference for travel i think
