Will you leave APS-C for the K1?

For me there is only one big improvement in the K-1 in contrast with K-3: autofocus. I am truly excited about SAFOX 12 and I hope it is gonna be a big step in the K system history.

However autofocus is only one of many features in the world of DSLRs. There are some other equally important factors for me, like:
- handling (size and weight of the body and lens)
- FPS (I shoot mainly sport events)
- pricinig (not only body but lens also)
- IQ (which is still very good on my K5ii)

All in all I am staying in APS-C. I do not make large prints and I do not have money to rebuy all FF lenses. I like APS-C handling. Furthermore I am sure that K3ii successor will have AF addressed again. This might be SAFOX 12 or somehing similar. Can't wait for K3iii or whatever it is going to be called

have yet to leave any of my gear going back to my first dslr (k100d) so, no. they'd more likely leave me first. ☺️

i dont think i will ever leave APC since i convinced last year my wife to get one k-3 :-) So k-3 will be my backup for some time together with the k-1

I'll use both, APS-C has its place in my commercial work especially for macro and architecture work* The last APS-C Body I bought from the big two was: Canon EOS 20D, which has since been IR modified. And the Nikon D200 which I gave to my brother and so far it has survived his deployment in Afghanistan, though the Nikkor AF-S 17-55mm f/2.8G IF ED lens on it was a complete write off.

*Composition adjustment has a bigger range of movements when you use a FF lens on APS-C.

Eventually I will... I will keep my K3, but that's going to be my last APS-C camera... so, for as long as it works i will keep both, but i will not renew my APS-C equipment.

By the end of April I will have a comprehensive FF system; the K-1 plus the D FA lenses plus various other FF lenses.

But - because of the weight, and/or burst-mode speed, I will continue to use APS-C where relevant. I will have two systems with the option of doing mix-n-match.

However, I wonder whether I will sometimes use the K-1 purely as a 15MP APS-C camera? And if a future FF camera with a better burst rate in cropped mode appears, perhaps it might replace my K-3II?

(I have a non-system carry-around camera, the Lumix LX100. So I tend not to go for the lightest possible system camera/lens combination).

short answer: yes!
will trade my K5 Mk II for this beauty. Saved a buch of $$$ but I will wait for the next reviews and maybe problems that occur (NOT!)

Such an exciting time for pentaxians. so happy with his release!

One day but not just yet. Although I did put a M 35mm F2.0 on my son's new Sony A7 a few weeks back for a quick try out after buying a Fotodiox adapter and was rather impressed. I was also rather impressed with the Sony sensor's rendering of a sunset he took during January and the lovely rendering of subtle tonal transitions. This brief observation of full frame capabilities has somewhat weakened my resistance. Damn!

I don't know when I'll get a K-1, but I do hope to eventually take the plunge. However, the heft and size of it concern me. I would definitely keep the awesome K-3 for wildlife/birding/telephoto at least.

I still have a K-r and K-30, though, and those would need to be sold for whatever I can get for them. They never get any use now and certainly wouldn't if I got a K-1.

No, I wont leave ASPC it still has a place (probably won't buy another one though) but I will be adding the new full frame to my kit. Unfortunately just used the funds set aside for this for some unexpected home repairs. Guess Ill have to keep using my film full frames until the summer.
