So much of what he write is pure flame bait. I do not comprehend why he seems to have some authority in the online camera world. Just ignore and move along.

The guy makes outrageous statements (which he probably doesn't believe as well) to get more clicks... you know... so we can help him help us... and his forever growing family...

It's funny, some of his reviews have been quite helpful for me, but his personality is way over the top. :/ I agree with a poster above, the Asperger comment is in very poor taste. The guy is a grumpy old man, his commentary reads as such.

That's a highly disturbing image. Let me add to it two words to make it worse: "My preciousssss..."

Mind you, that's also what those with K-1's currently in their hands are saying, and I can't blame them.
'Precious' is the 77.

I too think the statement is outrageous for more than just one reason - but do you have a link where he actually said that? I had a brief skim through his twitter feed and his website and couldn't find a quote like that.

Ah, thanks. That is quite bad, worse than I thought actually.

I tried this google thing but when I looked for it I couldn't find it. Maybe I used the wrong terms or it hadn't been indexed yet...

Ken Rockwell seems to be a photography guy? Never heard of him?!
But no problem. I love Pentax, the K1 will be epic in ergonomics, great in image quality and I am a teacher for kids with special needs. So no problem with Asperger and Kanner here...

I doubt that's true. I'm sure he had an opinion about it months ago. He, like a few of our members here (hmmm. maybe he is one and we just don't know it?), has multiple criteria that must be met for liking a camera but the only criterion that must met met to declare it junk is that it says Pentax on it.

He is probably one of those Canikon fan boy carrying big guns shooting along with me in some events but not knowing how to make use of his equipment.
Of course, jokes aside, he is certainly entitled to his opinion, end of story.

He sure does get a lot of people all hot and bothered, mostly for all the wrong reasons. Many of the comments that have been made are guilty of exactly that which they purport to condemn. How cool is that?

His website is primitive by today's standards (doesn't appear to have been updated since the '90s). I haven't read many of his gear reviews, the ones I have read appear to be reasonably balanced (the K3-II for example). He seems to have an inflated view of his own talents. But for all that, he does have some good insights into the practice of photography.

Oh, and for all those who did not know this: "The diagnosis of Asperger's was eliminated in the 2013 fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and replaced by a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder on a severity scale".

So technically, there's no such animal
