Ken Rockwell dismisses K-1 out of hand

That hasn't stopped a lot of people, here and everywhere else, from pronouncing on it in one way or another. At least here we can call on St Boris of Cleto to rid our sight of the ones we find offensive; what a pity we cannot apply this on an internet-wide basis!

If I imagine doing this using the K-1 (pixel shifted + what he did) for an architectural shot then it will NOT make "Ren Kockwell" happy but very very sad.

Ah, therein lies your mistake. You've assumed Ken "The Rock" Rockwell needs to actually use a camera before knowing how good or bad it is. Yet it's his sixth sense that tells him whether it can meet his lofty demands (specifically: shooting medium-sized over-saturated JPEGs in Program mode).

I think we can safely say the K-1 has no chance of being Ken's weekly "best camera in the world"...

The very fact that such things are happening just goes to indicate that some quarters are viewing the K-1 (specifically) and Pentax (generally) as, shall we say, "worrying"?

Point is, you can't put a good camera down, pun not intended.

That his his whole point. It was never about objective journalism. Proper reporting and reviews are expensive and already covered by other outlets. So instead, he has carved out a niche where he can say whatever he wants, and the more bold/inflammatory he is, the more traffic he gets.

He just wants to support his hobby of buying/playing with expensive camera gear, and by sticking with the 75% (Canon and Nikon), he has been pretty safe.

Please stop reading Ken Rockwell. You are just sending traffic his way and increasing his hit counter. Same with RiceLow.

I wouldn't bother with the guy. He is entitled to have his opinion, but the sad thing is that he doesn't need to have any facts for them. His analysis of the 645z was terrible. Upset that it had so many auto focus points and auto modes.

Beyond which, the Asperger's comment is in poor taste. There is no point in bringing mental health into the conversation, particularly in a way that seems to disparage both people who have Asperger's and Pentaxians at the same time.

What's really amazing was yesterday, when someone wondered what Ken Rockwell would think about the K-1, I said "pffft!" and dismissed Ken's opinion, not only without reading it, but before he even had one! I out-Rockwell'ed Rockwell! I think I'm ready for internet punditry!
