Better then Pentax camera's is fine. People expecting it to be better then thè other 36mp full frame camera's. I think it will be equal at best.
I would expect the K-1 36MP sensor to outperform the Nikon D810. The K-1 will have a newer image processor (software) and that is one area where Pentax has been beating Nikon. Ricoh will get more out of this sensor than Nikon or Sony. They always have.

Fantastic info. I have four of the six lenses you mention, so once I get myself a K-1, I expect I will be able to do 66.67% of what you can do

That is wrong. It also have to do with the processing engine etc too. The version in K-1 has been rebuild and tweaked different then the one in D810. It has 1 stop better ISO performance. So the "I think it will be equal at best" statement is more negativity from you then 100% true fact. Especially when you haven't event tried and used the K-1 yet.

The problem is that it sounds too good to be true.
So until proven otherwise I too will keep my expectations on the ground, that is, I expect similar performance as from D810 from iso 100 and upwards. Better than that would be very surprising, but I hope you are right though.

I see that point. I have tested K-1, but i can also see that people need to see it in action them self.

Feeling let down at delivery of the actual product because expectations were driven too high by Forum talk has been a common problem. On the initial K-1 announcement discussion from last year there was even a dialog predicting that would happen.

What has impressed you the most about the K-1? What do you with they had done different?

Imagine quality and ISO + the intuitive stuff around and inside the camera.

They have tweaked the sensor differently and have different image processor then Nikon.

Image quality compared with which cameras? K-3 or other APS-Cs, or to the FF Nikons you were working with in the past?

Thanks.
I'm asking because from APS-C to FF, better image quality is expected anyway.
