What I ideally would want to see is dim, low-ambient light, high-ISO samples.
Like you might get indoors at a candle-lit gig in a bar, or an old church-interior where you aren't allowed to use flash, or a night-time rural rodeo where you still have to shoot at 1/250 (and above) at f2.8 even though the light is poor, resulting in ISO 12800 images. Scenes that make the sensor really work.
Studio samples (dpreview, imaging resource comparometer, etc) where they use very bright continuous lighting on a studio test scene, whilst adjusting camera ISO, don't tell the same high-ISO story as scenes fed by minimal light, I believe.
