To be honest, I think its the price. A lot of pentaxian's are cheap and just want to use inexpensive old glass. I paid $1000 for the Sigma 85mm. Its a great lens, both sharp and fast. The AF can be a bit slow but its moving a lot of glass. Anyway, I can see why others would not pay that much for a somewhat specialized lens.
Some of us are really cheap. I wanted the FA85/1.4 but settled on the Sears 50/2.0 instead. I think I saved about $1,000. :>)

A couple more from my “Sweetheart” (Pentax-A* 85mm F1.4) in every day usage with a K1, certainly for me delivers what's required.

Kinda my reply to "A lot of pentaxian's are cheap and just want to use inexpensive old glass" statement.

+1 For the Sigma 85 1.4. Phenomenal glass. I snagged a near-new copy here on the forum for a fraction of the MSRP. Sigma's 4-year warranty is also noteworthy.

My K1 just arrived and the lens, IMHO, performs even better when paired with full frame. Razor sharp, whisper quiet, and extremely fast AF (for this type of glass).

Will be posting some sample images, over the coming days.

Beat me to it, I was just going to say the same. Didn't I buy a K85mm f1.8 from you on the Poly Urethane site a while back??
