I repeat myself, but I enjoy being easier to please than some.... Things are looking great to me!

Just wanted to see this shot sparkle a little more so a slight S curve and a little sharpening...

Sample Image? PENTAX K-1 | RICOH IMAGING

The first time when I watch K-1 demo video, I immediately noticed there is a Skin tone tuning mode in K-1 setting. Now I'm getting impressed with that mode

OFF

and ON

Yeah, that's probably the best evidence shown by those samples.
I agree nonetheless, that focus is not optimal on that shot, hoping K-1's AF spots are not too big to be acurate, or that new lenses don' t get B/F focus issues...

Regarding the first shot, it leaves me unimpressed @ f/8 and with a bad white balance...

Everything about this camera screams 'shoot RAW!' - I can see that journalists would use expensive cameras to shoot jpegs, but the whole set-up of the K-1 is towards considered photography, not fast reaction/ fast upload photography - so I'm sure it favours RAW - no reason not to produce good jpegs, but I'm sure that where the requirements of the two come into conflict, RAW will be favoured - then it's down to the photographer - no excuses

You know Ken Rockwell will select 'Bright' JPEG, then turn the dial so he's in 'P' for 'Professional' mode. ☺
