I wouldn't be too concerned about anything Amazon states until you get a shipped email.

They now say "temporarily Out of Stock". But if you click through it also says "#1 selling new release, available since February 17th, 2016."

So what does that mean? Likely they entered the expected date in the computer a long time ago and now that the date has passed with no inventory in stock the computer defaults to the "temporarily Out Of Stock" message.

Based on the incredibly loud silence I would say no one has any K-1's in stock yet. I think the 28th is still listed as the 'official' launch date.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. In the other thread someone posted Amazon told them via phone expect shipping between 5/2 - 5/17............................

my sales lady from ac-foto.com told me she hasn't heard anything else and still expect the order end of last week. so I dream of they got the order today or maybe getting it tomorrow and on friday I hold my copy in my hands :P

btw. amazon.de has no pentax k1 whatsoever. only trusted pentax dealers could pre order (if I got this right). I ordered at one of the biggest here in germany. so may be they will be preferred in shipping!?!? fingers: crossed

Since Ricoh stated the 28th as global start for delivery (on april the 12th), it appears now clearly that Amazon, B&H and Adorama - at least - altogether were not really honest on their availability or shipment dates....

Well, Ricoh say Spring now where on summer, i thin they werent honest either.... At least they dont say spring of what year...

If Ricoh gave an aproximated date of release all retailers gave the same date, but if Ricoh for any reason delay the shipment (they use to delays stuff isnt K1 and 70-200?) none retailer can do anything about it.

Come on guys "not honest" means intentionally deceitful. I think that is a bit harsh. Inaccurate? Maybe. But dates were stuck in computers months ago. Ever work with a computerized inventory maintenance system? With 100,000 SKU's? Trust me, no one goes back in and updates anything until they scan the box at receiving.

The K-1 is one SKU out of 100,000's for Amazon. It might be important to us, but it is less important than paper clips to Amazon. They stuck a date in when the listing was created, it will update when they actually have product.

Also the main website says for April delivery, ricoh really change that on their us website

Summer starts June 21st here, so definitely still Spring.

Curious why that is? If you cancel now you will have to get in line again. Not a problem if they have stock but after 645z launch they were out of stock for months trying to catch up with demand.
