I wonder if an eyepiece is made with an internal shutter for long exposure shots? I found recently that light coming in from the viewfinder ruins long exposure shots unless the viewfinder is covered. Some cameras have this built in but k-1 does not so an add on eyepiece with this would be useful.

My K1 came with an eyepiece blind. Probably everyone else's did too.

Of course. But having the shutter internal to the eyepiece would be simpler. I hate removing the eyepiece and putting the blind on.

Anyway I found a simple solution that seems to work.

The eyepiece "interface" on Pentax cameras has not changed since the ME-Super days.
You know things made since then will work, based on the fact that Pentax still bundles the little eyepiece cover with all new cameras - as they have for decades.

I have already installed a O-ME53. It fits fine...
