To be pedantic: K-1 DNGs have been supported in Adobe software released since about 2008!

(The K-1 writes DNG version 1.2.0.0, like the K-3II before it).

It's a wonder why Adobe even bothered to mention K1 support in their latest upgrade then.

To be even more pedantic, DNG is a file format that doesn't care what brand or model of camera recorded the image, but older versions of Lightroom won't be able to process pixel shift images, won't have a profile for the K-1 and won't have profiles for any of the new D-FA lenses. Versions of LR prior to 6.0 can't be upgraded to include these profiles, either.

There are ways to work around not having profiles for your camera and or lenses in the version of LR you happen to be using, but I'm debating whether to upgrade from 5.7 just to get lens profiles that would allow me to filter photos taken with HD versions of the DA 15 and DA 55-300, even though both lenses were released by Pentax before Adobe released LR 6. To me, this bit of news suggests that Adobe and Pentax are working closer together now to keep LIghtroom up to speed with Pentax gear. Who knows, some day tethering in Lightroom might work with Pentax cameras!
