Tamron 28-75 and 70-200 Has anyone tried these lenses on the K1? Are they any good? Love them on my K3
Both work well. Although DoF is to be taken care of compared to use of equivalent. FoV on K3. K1 AF + the 70-200 is less noisy than on the K3, I don't know why, works well.

I use the Tamron 28-75 2.8 on 36MP D800 for all kinds of casual shooting, and it's great. There are bad copies out there, though.

Both lenses work great with the K1
This picture is taken with the 70-200 at night with very poor lighting (maybe 150 watts worth of ceiling lights total).

Took the 70-200 to dog racing today, it performed very well - focus was fast and accurate.

When I purchased my K-1 a few months ago I also purchased the Tamron 28-75 and 70-200 2.8s, my first lens purchases for the camera. I was attempting to assemble a lens kit that would give good enough IQ for fairly large prints for landscapes but within a restricted budget. I purchased both lenses as "used - like new" on amazon saving a few hundred dollars over the msrp. Both lenses are like new as represented, flawless.

Most of my use has been with the 70-200 because of the particular locations I have been shooting. Almost all apertures were at f8 - f11 using a tripod. I have found the 70-200 to be very sharp at those settings. The largest print I have made thus far is 20-30" and it's very sharp. This lens has totally met my hopes and expectations for it. If money isn't an object there may be better choices but if cost is important I believe these are good choices and excellent value.

I have much less experience with the 28-75 but have no reason to doubt it is of similar quality when used at these settings. According to most of the reviews I read on this lens it does have edge and/or corner softness wide open but this resolves by f5.6.

So I would recommend these two lenses as long as sharpness wide open is not important, as it isn't to me. Given that one qualification I doubt they would disappoint,

Hope this is of some help.

What about 70-200? Does anybody with K1 made any test so far? The ones above looking quite good.
I'm testing the Tamron 70-200 right now. It's an older lens, with the limitations associated (noisy AF, slow on live view, clumsy focus clutch) but optically it's quite good. Vignetting is the worse problem. AF is surprisingly fast in good light. For the price it's a good lens.

Considering it is a 1/3 of the cost of the dfa 70-200 it is incredible. It and the Da 55 1.4 are always close.

My recollection with them on a D800 was that there was a wide variance of quality control. My first two experiences were negative - slightly decentered and the other beyond microfocus adjust range. The third was decent at best, but the larger sensor did push the resolving limits of the lens. For a ~$300 class zoom it's hard to complain, but it's not punching significantly above its price range.

I hope I will never see anyone mount a Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 to a K-1, for I may just consider that to be borderline blasphemy

I have the 70-200 Tamron and I like it a lot. Here is a shot I took and posted on another thread. Nice "macro" capabilities.

I have the Tamron 70-200 and is one of my favorite lenses.. it was with my K3. and it is still with the K1.. as some people pointed before.. it's kind of noisy.. and slow at Live View.. but the average performance is really nice.. image quality is one of my favorites. For a budget 70-200 this is a really great lens that everyone will enjoy to use.
