DA*10-17mm on K-1 at 10mm?

Has anybody out there made some tests using the DA*10-17mm at the 10mm setting on the K-1? I do full 360° panos with a K5IIs so I'm interested in seeing how it is doing at the edges or should one go looking for older Tak fish eyes...?

There is someone here in Germany who is cutting of the sunshade.
For examples look at his homepage: http://www.360pano.de/en/tokina-sigma-nikon.html

I haven't gotten to testing my copy yet as my K1 mid-Feb preorder was late arriving and just got in late yesterday afternoon, but I found this post encouraging and anticipate a lot of fun to come..

I can't edit my post? With a shaved Pentax 10-17 you need 4 pictures at 12mm with fullframe.

I hope philzucker will take some pictures:

It's only FF around 17-16mm, based on a test here. Without cutting the hood off!

There's also the F 17-28mm fisheye, which is the FF equivalent of the 10-17.

It's FF from ~14.5mm, you zoom the lens a little bit beyond the 14mm mark, but the EXIF does not yet register it as 15mm.

Well, I had heard about that now that I see this, I guess I'll have to do both: shave it and get that K-1...!!!

One problem: I've been having bad flares in the corners in some panos when a ceiling light is there, ugly looking green/turquoise mothers and a pain to fix so this might warrant some testing before acting, at least for the shaving...? It's true that the hood is there for a reason.

Thanks to all for the infos.

Alas, there seems to be a dearth of these available at the moment

Today I strapped together an apparatus that included a tripod, ball head, macro rail, and zip-ties to hold my dremel in the correct position. Then I dressed up my 10-17 in a bunch of masking tape and did the deed...

BEWARE! NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! SOMEONE TOOK A DREMEL TOOL TO THEIR LENS. PURE INSANITY!!!

You must cut within millimetres of the front element.

I might paint the rim black at some point, but it looks pretty metal () right now. Until I get out to a nice location to do some 360 degree shooting, here is my cat transformed into a weasel at 10mm:

The problem for me with the FA 17-28 is that it's minimum focus distance is nowhere near that of the DA 10-17. I would imagine that this would make some of the more amazing effects that the DA can pull off more difficult to reproduce with the FA lens?
