I think some guys from that project are on this forum.
Anyway, it sure is an interesting mod, but I wouldn't do it to a brand new, fancy, not-cheap camera. Then again, budget and gear are part of the decision. If you have some gear that would work well with this mod, and if you have enough money to do this, go for it.
If you have no lenses that actually need that, if your whole budget is spent on just getting a K-1, then think again

You would use this one if you did it:
Pentax K+ Multi-Mount (WR version) - Adaptist

Personally I would use it only on something out of warranty.

If you want to use it on FF the only choice is the K-1. He stopped selling the non-WR version.

Are any Multi mounts still available? The non WR was discontinued long ago. Now the website lists the WR as sold out. Did Adaptist quit selling mounts?
Thanks,

Would lenses from other manufacturers be able to achieve infinity focus? I'd be curious to try it when my K-1 goes out of warranty

OM, C/Y, and F-mount all focus to infinity. C/Y lenses need the aperture lever trimmed ~1mm. F-mount lenses need a shim. Konica AR and M4/3 are for macro only...

interesting, m43 can be used with k-1? wouldn't image circle be quite a bit smaller than ff one?

I hear good things about OM lenses, I've only used Oly's more recent M. Zuiko line and they were excellent.

Has anyone tried this? Is it difficult to swap it out at home, or need to send it to someone to do it?

I'm sure there's vignetting, and max focus distance would be inches...also the aperture would be fixed...

And good luck finding one now, he's sold out...

Typically you want to change lens mounts to a different camera mount. Typically breaking a lens is less costly than Messing up the camera.
Exchanging of Mounts is not easy. Wrong shimming can result in focus shift. 0.01 mm change in the shim can set off you infity focus. Playing with mount screws, ... is also not for everyone. I keep thinking about a Leitax fitted lens to a an existing camera, but would not mess with the camera itself. Considering that the glass I want to have converted is still not cheap, I will probably skip mount change completely. In theory a very nice idea, in practice quite difficult.
