I used those on every digital camera I owned until K-3. They didn't protect anything any better than the soft clear skins did on my Palm Pilot and early iPhones.

I forgot to worry about a pristine LCD (and any marks of any kind) when I got the K-3 - I guess I never got around to buying a protector - and I never hurt it. I haven't changed my opinion for my K-1. Or my iPhone 6s.

Acmaxx makes a reliable protector set that includes a cover for the lcd on top. I have used these on many Pentax cameras going back to the K-7 with very satisfying results. The set is available from Amazon and Ebay.

Also the ACMAXX is the only one that wont create bubbles. I'd have the Vikuiti DQCM30 before, but it's hard to apply. Better go directly to the ACMAXX.
