Yeah, they may test it in 2 or 3 years. Ohh, and they had the 645z test as of last September and accidentally released it, but then removed it because it scored too high and would have been the top camera. They can't have Canon, Nikon, or Sony dethroned!

Samuel, would you mind sharing original DNGs. Would be curious to compare using different PP engine really.
Here are some raw shots from the K1 and 5Dii in better light. Also included a pixel shift shot.

Is there any particular reason they would be invested in having Sony/Nikon at the top of their rankings?

Probably paid ads or something, but I am not sure.

You know you might get a better comparison if you output a JPEG with a natural profile from both cameras. Then you would get what the camera system designers intended.

New Test, see exif data for details.

This is actually using a pixel shift K1 shot v the 5d Mark ii. I have camera calibration turned off for both. Sight sharpening and micro contrast boost that's it.

Ok as promised. Here are the shots from both...using latest C1 with Linear Response Curve As close as possible to no change to RAW.
Couple of observations...both are similar as far as settings for the shot but K1 used 1/8 vs Canon 1/15 for some reason...Wanted to point out. Ooh and Sigma 35 profile applied just to correct curvature settings...
One thing to note, C1 has great support for PEF files (native Pentax format). DNG is OK, but PEF support is better, so I'd recommend to shoot in PEF on K1 (cause both LR and C1 supports it plus it is better apples to apples with CR2 you shoot on Canon).

Not much of a difference between those two shots.

That is why they are linear...True RAW or as close as possible to True RAW..

---------- Post added 07-20-16 at 03:09 PM ----------

Now let's apply default engine profiles...

---------- Post added 07-20-16 at 03:11 PM ----------

I personally already see tons of differences on 4K screen...

Ok, next is more towards the tool (PP) so disregard...it adds more of the tools processing logic to it...Again, I'd truly prefer to have PEF rather than DNG and both at the same shutter speed 1/15 and 1/8 if possible...Just wanted to do it. Add C1 auto - only for Exposure Settings/Contrast/HDR and RGB (Red,Green, Blue Channels), again in Auto. I use it quite extensively thus this is why curious how it is going to work.

Now I'm wondering how these sites like DPReview etc who do those side by side comparisons compensate for the different sensitivity levels at an identical iso between different manufacturers.

They fake the results.

I picked up and looked at this month Pop Photography at the store the other day because it has a review of the K1. It also had a review on the Nikon D5. The thing I noticed when I looked through the two reviews, was the fine print on the D5 saying in the high ISO test that enhanced noise reduction was used.

When I saw that, the question that came to mind was, why would you do that? The only reason would be is so the Nikon D5 would look better then the K1 when it came to the high ISO testing.

That was to make the exposures even, for some reason iso 400 is more sensitive on the Canon so I had to speed the shutter up a bit.

Thanks for checking those files out. Honestly I still like the colors of the Canon more, the K1 shots look very yellow for some reason but that might just be white balance.

I actually downloaded an Adobe DNG profile editor this afternoon and made a few of my own profiles and I think that's made a big difference. I was pretty happy with the edits I got this afternoon.

There are so many things about this camera that I really like. Now if they can just speed that autofocus up a bit and put out some modern primes (or talk sigma into putting more stuff out in K mount)...
