Pixel Shift and Lightroom

Pardon me if this has already been addressed.

I know Adobe put an update for Lightroom out that supposedly helps process pixelshift files (it was having trouble with them prior).

Has anyone tested the updated Lightroom/ACR v. Silky Pix with pixelshift files yet? Being able to process them in Lightroom (and get the same result as Silky Pix) would certainly be far more convenient.

LR with last two ACR versions 9. 6.1 and 9.6.2 will process PixelShift data with good results. In my tries, the PDCU results and the LR are different but I haven't rechecked setup. Both are acceptable to me. LR/ACR does not have the motion compensation option available.

PDCU works well with pixel shift, jpeg output is around 30Mbytes.

Thanks, I'm sure it does. I'd just prefer to not have to change my workflow and learn new software for one particular file type you know? I'm new to Pentax.

Just thinking aloud, as I don't have LR, but you could do the PS combine / MC stuff in PDCU5 and save the file as a 16 bit tiff file for use in LR?

My normal pixel shift workflow is definitely a PDCU5 open, export as TIFF, import to LR and continue from there as usual.

My first step for pixel shift is also via DCU5, exporting as TIFF for further processing, although I don't use Lightroom. If you're using PS and want to get the best out of it (including motion correction) then I'd certainly recommend integrating DCU5 (latest version 5.5.1) into your workflow.

For information, the K3ii review gives an update on PS and the latest version of DCU5 (free updates link if you already have PDCU5) :

Though Lightroom claims to have support for Pixel Shift images, I had no luck with both desktop version (6.6) and Cloud version (with latest updates including Camera RAW). I use DCU5 instead for pixel shift RAW image development.
