5 reasons to choose Pentax

1. Tough Construction. Yep
2. Lens selection - just a joke looking at full frame
3. Light weight lenses - hm, D-FA 70-200 is uniquely heavy in its class
4. Color variations - BS
5. Shake reduction - Yep

Sorry Pentax, you brought up theses five arguments. Two of them are correct, three are hillariously funny. Why not work on no 2 and 3 and forget abut 4.

For those playing along at home, I believe zapp is referencing this;

Egads, why must forums be such a lightening rod for negativity. Why do we continue to fire up such threads? Enjoy your cameras, they are quite nice!

Edit: unsubscribed, and everyone should consider it. This is not productive.

Canon and Nikon had a much longer time to build their lens selection in the digital era for full frame, so not really a fair comparison.
I don't know from when these arguments are. Maybe they where ment for the APS-C sensor cameras.

It is even mentioned that this argument is meant for APS-C

Price. I can't find another brand that delivers this much quality per $
And lens selection is huge. Another huge value too.

#2 speaks directly to APS-C lens selection. I think zapp brought up FF just to complain. That's the only logical answer I can come up with.

Anyone take some good pictures with their camera today?

Wait, you can take pictures with them? I thought they were just for looking at charts to compare their accessories, and complaining about, and occasionally starting holy wars over with people whose cameras have a different logo on them.

That was before FF. Now there are 5 different reasons!

Go to Nikon/Canon then. Bye

You can still get Light weight lenses. The 3 new FF zooms are made to satisfy pro's, not average Joe taking pics for flowers in his backyard. I love the 70-200 and it doesn't feel any heavier then I'm used to with other pro zooms from other brands. Quality is more important then weight and size.

There is already enough lenses for doing a good job for pro's on FF. And more is coming too. Maybe you are one of those who will complain until they release 100 lenses and still only buy 2?

Only hilariously funny thing here, is your whining post.

Yes, all true when it was written in 2013....at present lacking a model with abundant colours but the APSc lens range is still extensive

2017 will see the release of the prime range for FF, another GREAT year for Ricoh/Pentax!

Not very likely, as this cultured poster points out:

Wait! You mean they are for taking still pictures! Looking at various forums for various brands I thought you were only supposed to shoot video with them and then b!tch about the slow auto-focus!

well, id have to agree about lens selection when viewed comparatively to other mfgs. but id disagree on the same basis about lightweight lenses as pentax has more of them than other dslr mfgs. i also disagree that 'color variation' difference is BS, if by 'variation' one means 'pleasing rendition'. frankly i dont like dslrs, and the main reason i enjoy pentax is for what i feel is a rather unique look to their images, and to the boldness of their colors. they match my eye so i like it; others may not. but i certainly feel i can pick a photo ive taken w pentax gear from one ive taken with sony gear. so to paraphrase Meatloaf, 'dont be sad cause 4 outta five aint bad'!

It's probably you who's joking, as we have all the K, M, A, F, FA and DFA lenses and some of the DA lenses are FF compatible, too.
Or did you expect, that the same day K-1 is put into market, Pentax would come with entire lineup of brand new DFA lenses, all focal lengths, primes and zooms?

By the way - how many DFA lenses have you already purchased to motivate Pentax to speed up further lens development?

(Oh well, NONE, if your "About me" section is up to date...)
