My K-1 has arrived!

I just received my K-1 and brand new 24-70 today. I am pretty stoked about it. I've taken a few snaps with each of my lenses (I couldn't resist) and I put a couple of settings that I am familiar with... but I am going to read the manual and see what things are different or new. I also updated the firmware to v1.41.

So far my immediate reaction is "I love it!". I am going to go outside and take some more shots in a little while. I am curious to see some bokeh and to test out everything.

I don't really need anything, I am just happy!

If you have any tips or suggestions feel free to add them below.

Congrats on your new camera!! Hope you will enjoy if and create some great images. If you haven't already seen this video by Tony Northrup, I suggest you watch this. He goes through different functions and features and demonstrates how to set up your camera.

Congratulations!
My experience too - I quickly fell in love with it. Tips depend on what you are going to use it for but fair to say the manual is a great starting point and just try everything out for yourself as it a great (fun) learning process.

Woohoo!

This was an awesome camera with firmware 1.0, but is even better with some of the updates, espcially the electronic shutter and the low light mode that turns your info screen to red light.

If you haven't done so already, there was an update to the user manual issued as a pdf for FW 1.4 (I think it was that one). That has the details for the electronic shutter and a few of the upgrades they added. It can be found on the downloads page.

Have fun mate.

Tas

Congratulations on the new camera! I got mine about a year ago and its a great photographic partner. Most lenses work well with it and it has so many features it will take many years to fully explore. Most of us have just scratched the surface of things this camera is capable of. Enjoy!

I tried out all my amigos and what had me MOST curious is a manual focus f1.4 50mm that I have. I knew the 3 amigos would be awesome and I was not disappointed. That 50mm though seems pretty good but I don't know how to technically measure such things. I shot every single lens wide open for almost every single shot.

I will eventually do some actual depth of field testing simply because I've been curious about it... but so far, DANG! It's fantastic. The sensor on that thing is blowing me away as well.

I would also suggest you do a proper auto-focus test and make any adjustment needed per lens.

I was initially disappointed with the AF when looking at 100% image, but after calibrating i am blown away with the K1.
