NISI V5 Pro filter holder

Folks, just a heads-up on the NISI V5 Pro filter holder....using this product on my K-1:

Today I received the NISI V5 Pro Holder (100 mm), 15 stop ND (NISI) and 2 Lee ND Grads. This holder is extremely well-designed and constructed, I'm really impressed and am of course interested to see how it performs in the field. I think the only potential field use issue would be installing the very slim CPL filter in say cold weather, but NISI has even improved the handling in this latest version.

This V5 Pro is a bit of a change from their former 'V5" product, it's improved in a few ways and I can tell you the filters just slide in and fit so darn well, I don't think anyone could has for a better fitment - even the NISI 15 stop ND w/attached foam light sealing goes in smoothly.

This is certainly not an inexpensive setup, but like most things one gets what one pays for - this is a quality product in every way. Link below explains some of the differences between the former V5 and this current V5 Pro holder-

Well done! filters are expensive, but the quality is here. There's some tests on the net that show the Nisi glass have much less color casts that other manufacturers,

I bought my kit recently too. The most impressive part of it is the incorporation of the CPL filter. It's really intuitive.

I've not used filter systems before so it's my first, but I've enjoyed using it so far.

Nice, I want one too, does it have all the adapter rings you would need for Pentax lenses ?

The main holder into which one can insert their thin CPL has 82 mm threads- kit contains 3 more adapters for smaller diameter lenses.

So one would have to purchase different adapter rings for different lenses, and i am assuming there sold thru NiSi also ?

I don't own any, have had the K10D since it came out and just purchased the K1 about a week ago. So I am going to invest I. Some type of filter system, I was looking at the NiSi today.

The V5 Pro includes 3 adapter/step-up rings:

Use of the NiSi V5 Pro 100mm Filter Holder Kit can be easily accomplished by first screwing the included 82mm adapter ring onto a lens with 82mm front filter threads. Step-up rings are included to allow the adapter ring to be used with lenses that have 67mm, 72mm, or 77mm front filter threads; while additional step-up rings are separately available for lenses with 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, or 62mm front filter threads.

If you have lenses w/diameters other than listed above, then you would need to purchase appropriate rings. This video is a demo of the older V5 but it shows you how the components fit together, identical assembly for V5 Pro, look here
. The guy is using a lens that requires a 77 mm adapter ring.

I'm using this on my K-1; it's an impressive setup, top notch quality-
