DA lenses for fullframe

Hi there,

I read that there are some DA lenses actually covers fullframe circle, and I've tested my 55-300 HD and surprised that did not see much vignetting on the Super A viewfinder, I've not tested on film yet, but interested to know if any one have a list of such lenses can share with us ?

Because of the Fresnel lens, vignette is seldom visible in the viewfinder. The DA 55-300 is on the big DA lens on FF thread and is deemed "0: usable at f/11 or with big loss in corner IQ only". There was visible vignette in the scans.

Oh IC thanks for the tip,
it is such a small lens that made me wonder why I didn't see vignetting on FF, but I see 'circle crop' with the 16-50 on the same camera.

^What clackers said. BUT....

The 55-300 only covers the full frame around the 200mm mark. At the long end it vignettes a bit, and at the short end it vignettes a lot.
The *55 is as near as I care to FF compatible, while the *200 and *300 are officially OK.
The 35/2.4, 40 limited, 50 and 70 limited are pretty close, as is the *60-250 if you remove an internal baffle. The other * zooms are hopeless.
10-17 has a big enough image circle from 15-17mm, but corner IQ drops away quickly.
15 limited and 21 limited are no good. 35 macro limited is OK close up, but not at longer focal distances.

Yes it is very sharp good for casual wildlife, I even shoot close up/macro with extension tube. I used it quite heavily and dropped it couple times, once head down with the K3 and battery grip, the metal hood took the shock without bouncing like with the plastic hood that I lost, to save the camera from more damage ! now the lens is little noisy and rough in focusing but still very usable.

+1. The DA70Ltd and DA40 XS are also in this category.

The DA 20-40 works quite well on full frame up to about f11, especially from about 24mm to 37mm.

If you fancy the 1:1 square crop theres plenty of DAs that are OK at different points in their focal range.

The disappointingest(is that a word?) is the 18-135mm.

And this tool allows you to check what PF thinks of APSC/FF compatibility. Its a little stricter than the test shot thread above
https://www.pentaxforums.com/lenssearch/?format=ff

Some lenses can have a small modification and become more FF, like the DA 60-250mm
Some DA zoom lenses are not FF at all focal lengths, but are FF at some zoom and focus settings.
