I use the FA 77 Limited. It was always one of the best portrait lenses. In certain situations, I love the DA* 200 also.

The new D FA 50 1.4 is proving to be in that category, but a bit wider.

On FF, the old 135s for head and shoulders from a correct distance. There were many built but the Pentax F2.5 is a great one.

How much do you want to spend?
How high are your (or your clients) expectations?

The 77 is a screw drive lens, but in my experience, it has never been faster or more certain lock than on the K-1. And I didn’t find the focus of the 77 to ever be a slouch on older cameras.

From my film days I preferred the A* 85 f1.4, But the F 100 f2.8 Macro and M 100 f2.8 were also quite good. I didn't buy my FA 77 until I moved to apsc digital but it was very commonly used for portraits back in the day. On crop I've shot every focal length from 8-400 for portraits. At your budget I'm thinking FA 77 f1.8, DFA 100 f2.8, F or FA 135 f2.8, or the existing 70-200 you already have.

You've got the FF equivalent of a 50-135 with the 70-200. Add the Tamron 28-75/2.8 and you've most of what you need.
