K1 Grip Strap

One of the things I really like about the K1 is how much it reminds me of my Z1p. To make it handle even more like the Z1p I'd really like to get a grip strap for it - similar to the original Pentax one I have on my Z1p:

Any recommendations for a decent 3rd party item that works well with the K1? I've tried one that I already had for one of my other DSLR's but it's too flimsy to work on the K1 (and I don't think the K1 battery grip is going to be useful for me).

don't have a K 1 but I use a Joby Ultrafit Hand Strap and Ultra Plate:

" Hand strap and universal baseplate for DSLR cameras
Comfortable, lightweight strap conforms to hand for solid grip
UltraFit Layered-Pad Technology™ provides support without bulk
Integrated UltraPlate baseplate is Arca-Swiss compatible
Versatile baseplate includes two 1/4''-20 attachment points
Supports sling strap or other camera accessory "

don't know why that wouldn't work with a K 1

Thanks - that looks good and I think that baseplate will work on my tripod head, so have ordered one!

I know Peak Designs has one and if they are as good as their Slide straps, they're worth considering...

hope it works, please let us know how you like it.

some folks warn about the top strap coming loose, I back thread it and then put a half hitch knot on it

Just looking at the joby reviews, perhaps use their bottom plate and take the pentax handstrap from your Z1 to make a frankenstein version

Have a look at the Peak Design Clutch. It's great and can be used together with the Slide sling strap

I've got the Joby strap now and it's pretty decent. Not quite as nice as a dedicated one like there is for the Z1p, but not bad at all.

I'll second this. I've also been using them for years and already have one on my brand-new K-1 II. Baseplate is beefy metal, not plastic.

The Joby also has a metal baseplate and while it's not quite as good as a dedicated grip-strap like is on my Z1p it's still pretty good.

I second the Clutch by Peak Design. I have the first generation one and it on my K1 all the time. I also use their ARCA plate to attached the other end of the Clutch and still can quickly attach the body to a tripod with the Peak Design Clutch still attached.
