Full circle

Well after receiving my first Pentax (K1000 still have it along with my Takumar lenses) at 15 years old I finally pulled the trigger and just purchased the K-1 II ! I still have and will use my Canon gear for birding and wildlife but really wanted a dedicated landscape and astro camera, and the K-1 checked all the boxes, battery is on the charge!

Welcome back (as it were)!

The DFA 28-105 a capable lens and I'm sure you will enjoy using those Takumars again!

I learned how to get the best out of the K1II, it's very good. I use the DFA28-105 for about everything now. Even with 450mm lens, at the best settings it can deliver amazing photographs. There can also be some very good deals for the K1, one of the best value out there, IMO.

Congratulations! My new (to me) K-1 arrived today too. It's been a blast getting to know it.

I have been using Pentax K1 for over two years and needless to say its performance is very good.

I have 4 lens, Pentax 24-70, Pentax 70-200, Rokinon 14mm and older version of Tamron 10-18mm (rated for cropped sensor).

At first, I was a little disappointed with extra grain when ISO was 400 or higher, but later I found the lens not sharp. So I used the Micro Adjustment function to re-align all my lens, since then the issue had gone away and the images are tag sharp.

I do landscape photography most of the time, my 500px account is hung.kwang.tan, plse feel free to view my photos.

24-70 lens, v sharp from f4
70-200 lens, v sharp from f3.5
Rokinon 14mm, v sharp from f3.5
I rarely use the Tamron for Landscape as it's not as sharp as I could have wished for.

The weather and skies have been so flat and grey lately, so I was happy to finally get out after work yesterday to try out my K-1ii with the 28-105 lens. I came across this abandoned Drive-in as the sun was getting low, really happy with shadow recovery!
