HDR with Takumars on K1 II

Interesting finding today for those who want to do HDR with Takumar lenses on a K1...
I was making some HDR tests for full 360° panos with my K1 II and a 28mm f3.5 Takumar when I suddenly found out that 5 brackets at 2.0 EV didn't work, only the base exposure was taken. I kept on snapping and found out that each next exposure was actually each of the bracketed exposure set the menu. The camera can't shoot the brackets automatically because the 28mm is a manual lens but it does know how to shoot the brackets one by one...! Shooting an HDR or and HDR pano will take time and you had better check each shot so you don't miss one but it works.

This is what I got on the test: Base exposure 1/6, f8.0, ISO 800 and each next snap came true at 0.7s, 1/20 and 1/90. Rendered in Photomatix - the focus was a bit off with camera shake (?)

Hmmmm...works for me in both Av and M mode with fixed ISO and one-push bracketing enabled.

Addendum:
I am unable to reproduce. Can you provide your settings in detail:
  • Exposure mode
  • Auto or fixed ISO
  • Bracket order
  • Remote? Wired or IR?
  • One-push bracketing enabled?
My camera is the K-3, but behavior should be the same.

BTW...are you using the default bracket order? If not, the base value for the bracket might not be the value expected.

Steve

(...does a fair amount of bracketed exposures with vintage lenses...)

My mistake... totally ignore what I wrote...!
I was under the impression I did set one-push bracketing. I guess you would call that a "brain fart"!
