the easier path would be to just buy a Nokton in k- mount, wouldn't it?

it sounds like a good idea but you try and find one at a resonable price .my friend has the voitlander 58mm and is willing to sell it to me for £300 uk so this is the reason

I think £300 is just about reasonable for these Voigtländer lenses. I recently picked up the 20mm version for roughly the same price. They have great IQ and built quality. Mind you, it is a slightly older design and it might be worth getting another vintage lens for similar image quality, e.g. the Takuma 55 1.8 or 50 1.4.

You might want to contact Leitax. They should be able to answer your questions.

I second Stevebrot's comment, contact Leitax directly. The comments in this thread: Carl Zeiss T* ZK mounts (Distagon, Planar, Makro-Planar) - PentaxForums.com indicate they're very helpful.

I just have to play devil's advocate here. I have the SL version of this lens in K mount, and it is very nice. So, what is the cost of the copy you're looking at plus the conversion kit compared to buying one that was born this way? I'm assuming the SL-II was offered as "PK-A" and has the "A" setting so you can control the aperture via the camera versus stopping down manually? That alone would make me say wait until you can find a copy that started life as the K mount version. Manual focus is no big deal to me, but aperture control is something I really do like.

+1 with ClickClick. I have the VL58mm on K-mount and it is a great (really great) lens. I have the SL-II offered as "PK-A" and the aperture control via the camera is worthwhile.
My 5 cents.

If you do convert it over, can you post up the steps to do the conversion? Would be interesting to see.

I own the VL58mm F1.4. But I modified its predecessor Topcon RE 58mm into M42 mount with this kit too.
