SMC DA L 1.4 5.8 55-300mm ancient lens

Is this thing full frame? I need a long lens now due to horse riding.
I'm tired of spending money. It takes great pics of cats (my testors).

No

But can be used in crop mode or for a bit more use in ff and crop yourself in post

it's not full frame and you'll find that if you rely on it at 300mm, it will let you down more often than not - save your money and get a good 300mm prime....

The DA* 200mm f/2.8? was released in 2008 - crop sensor lens but believe it still has full frame image circle.

I think I dreamed it (can't find). But I did find this
DSLR Lenses, SLR Lenses | Camera Lens | B&H

---------- Post added 08-04-20 at 09:59 PM ----------

Pentax HD PENTAX D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW Lens 21340 B&H

---------- Post added 08-04-20 at 10:00 PM ----------

Is that FF? For what I have spent I will not buy ancient lenses anymore. I'm willing to bite the bullet and get that one if it is new and modern and FF.

Pentax HD PENTAX D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 DC AW Lens 21340 B&H

Hi Fozzy

The Da 200 and 300 are just newer F then FA lenses.
They are only called DAs because at that time a ff camera had not been released.

IMO, you won't find a better 200mm or 300mm than the DA* lenses. Either from Pentax or any other manufacturer.

By the time the DA* 200 and DA* 300 were released, the DFA 50 and the DFA 100 Marcos were already released...
Both well before the K-1
