I have both the FA35/2 and the FA31ltd.
On apsc, I liked the FA35 more, and the 31ltd seemed rather pointless, but once the K1 arrived, I'd take the 31ltd as my most used lens.
Interestingly, my preferences are the same between the two (four): KP+FA35/2.0, K1+31Ltd - with different field of view, of course.

Maybe it's because I like to use the KP with a 49mm set of lenses - selection from DA15, F28, FA35, DA40, F50, FA77, DFA100WR, CJZ or M135/3.5 - but honestly, I'm mostly using it with compact zoom(s)+DA15. The 31Ltd just doesn't fit this. The obvious gap may be filled with A24/2.8 or Color Skopar 20/3.5 at times, which both could be used with a step-down ring on APS-C. <|

After having seen the above linked comparisons, I had to get my hands on an HD :-) I'll try to do a 3-way comparison next week between FA31mm, FA35mm and HD-FA35mm - if weather cooperates and creates some high-contrast landscapes. Afterwards, I'm planning to sell one (and DA40) or two of them.

Cool! Be sure and do a review of the HD for PF.

Turned out to be dull skies or fast changing light - not really suitable for an in-depth comparison. Love the robust handling of huge contrasts, as in this picture, where very slight fringing along the branches against the sun (bottom right) was easily removed. Flare is well behaved. A small but noticeable step up from the smc FA, as far as I can see from the comparisons so far.

I like how her outfit and ink compliment each other. I'm not a fan of body art but that makes a great combo.

How about the 35 mm macro? Does it improve image quality? It would seem you have to get too close?

The DA 35 macro is an excellent lens, you don't have to get "too close" for it to shine, but it is designed for APS-C sensors. It will have black corners on K1 unless used in crop mode, which will not give you the same angle of view.
