819k max ISO of k1ii is so 2018ish Pentax being Pentax absolutely has to bump it to 2M.

Maybe go the other direction - drop the bottom iso to 25 as a nod to the films used in the original Pentax SLR models.

Lower iso might be amazing, I rarely shoot above iso3200 anyway))

Real K-1 successor:
- Higher MP sensor (60MP sounds great);
- from K33 - Fn button, AF system joystick, cleaner image on higher ISO., OVF trick, rear screen (touch and IQ), moonlander can stay.
- Faster WiFi standard and seamless connection with smartphone/PC.

If it hasnt been mentioned earlier in the thread some upgrades I'd like to see would be software based -- a focus stacking function, more options in multi-exposure mode so you could vary the exposures of the different images being merged, continued improvements to pixel shift.

A super resolution mode (a-la olympus) would be cool too. To get 120mp images, for massive prints, and even better scanning capabilities.

Excellent and intelligent suggestions---and probably very doable w/o tremendous engineering effort (and if I were Pentax, I'd be working hard on software collaborations...).

I think there should be an option not to process pixel shift in camera. Just take the exposures and save the data using one of the frames as thumbnail. Would make the process faster and the in cam pixelshift is useless to me.

Loading/saving custom curves, colormatrixes and custom image settings to from.SD card would be great for sharing.

I was hearing that most software could not handle pixel-shift correctly.
Has Adobe modified their software so that pixel-shift images are handled now quickly and correctly?

No, Adobe is rubbish. Rawtherapee is by far the best for pixelshift (and everything else )

I doubt if Pentax will depend on “PS” until Adobe does it well.
They might be willing to make it a menu option, but their handling of the ‘accelerator’ shows a different mindset - perhaps a more powerful processor would meet your stated need.

The issue is that the extra time or cost sunk in processor is wasted for me. Would be simple to bypass processing. When shooting raw all that processing goes into creating the thumbnail...

Maybe yes, maybe no.
If it has the same system as the K-3iii, the “cost sunk in processor” may also be a part of the improved focusing, and may be part of the improved burst rate when not pixel-shifting.

A message to Ricoh. I hope the K1 mk III will not have an accelerator chip that wipe off image details (and noise). If it will, I'll have to change my preferred brand of camera.

So you and House see the "loss of detail"?
