Mate of mine used to have a '58 Cadillac Series 75. That filled a parking bay nicely. Actually, it filled two nicely.
Like this one, not my photo.

It was his dad's car originally. Dad was quite well off and they used to go on holiday by boat. The car went along, on the boat, so that they would have their own car to cruise around in wherever they went for holidays. That's the life.

Our boy off so empty nesters now. Here's him, yesterday, waiting to join the army bus.

News recently is the the Duchess of Sussex is expecting. If born in USA the child would be eligible to be President, and that only requires being elected. And the same child would also be the in line to the English throne.

Subject to the right combination of future events occurring this means it is conceivable that a future monarch of England could have a 4 or 8 year sojourn as POTUS.

Extremely unlikely but an amusing thought.

Cars that fit the bays are for other people: why would one want a car like that?
They are compensating for a lack of, um, manliness.

It looks like he forgot to pack!
His bag looks decidedly empty, or at least under-utilised.

They had to wear masks on the bus. Currently, we only have a few active cases in the whole country, so, yes, a bit different here than elsewhere.
We did go back into Level 2 last night and that will be re-evaluated in two days time. Auckland (NZ's largest city) is back to Level 3 for the same three days. (Which means stay at home for them for everyone other than essential workers)
All this because we have just discovered 3 community cases in the country and they're in South Auckland.

So, the army recruits from Auckland are being kept separate from everyone else until their Covid test results are in. Separate barracks, etc.

Yes, the bag is bigger than it needs to be. Originally, the private clothing / gear list was quite long but the final list provided shrunk that down somewhat, by which time the bag was already purchased. It matters not - very soon he'll have a whole lot of kit that won't fit into or need to fit into that bag!

Takes me back to dropping off my oldest son for the Air Force in 1994. Pop shed a few tears.
He served his 4 years, then later went into the active reserves. The Air Force has been very good for, and to him. He is currently a Master Sgt.

I had to look hard to spot the family resemblance: no pizza, no wine bottle and no lurid lycra. Apart from that he looks very like his father’s photo. . To think he was the size of a wombat not that long ago! Have you bagged his room for a new photo studio yet?

Reminds me of the Cadillac used in one of my favourite movies, Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, starring Cary Grant as the man on the run, Eva Marie Saint as the villainess/ heroine and James Mason as the smooth, albeit oily villain.

Even though this movie was made in 1958, and has been available for viewing for many a year, I don't want to say more, as it may spoil this film for those who haven't seen it, as of yet.

Highly recommended by @ 2.
