As I got older, I was amazed how much my parent's generation knew about those subjects.

I've been reading a book, called The Tale of the Axe, by David Miles, Miles was the Director of the Oxford Archeological Unit and Chief Archeologist of English Heritage. The book is a detailed look at how the Neolithic Revolution transformed Britain. The book just doesn't look at the British experience, but does look at the Neolithic period across the world.

It is quite a read, about quite a period.
Interesting. And a tool that continued to be in daily use in some cultures into the 1800's and probably later. The original Swiss army knife!

As you get older, you also get less 'grossed out' that your own parents actually procreated - and practiced. My wife overheard our then teen daughter talking with a friend about the parents of another friend from a large family. "We each have one sibling. You know that means our parents did IT twice!" "Yes but <other friend> has 8 siblings, that means her parents did IT NINE TIMES!" jointly "Gross!"

This is sad. Looks like it may have been intentional.

There’s the advantage of having twins, triplets or even quads; right there!

Oddly enough, an axe is missing from the tools in a Swiss Army knife. Quite a notable omission, I’d say.

And breaking news from Stonehenge - after this morning’s sunrise was blocked with clouds and rain, Waitrose have said no refunds on solstice virgins without a valid receipt.

When I was 18 I knew A LOT more than my parents. By the time I was in my early twenties they knew more than I did.
I was amazed at how much they had learned in just a few years.

Same here and what I learned from that rapid growth in knowledge by my parents, disproved that old saying that you 'can't teach old dogs, new tricks. '
