Can't argue with that. We do feel superior.

Never thought we'd use an air fryer as much as we do.
Same. I lampooned my wife for buying the thing, but now I use it almost every day. Turns out it's good for when you have to eat crow too!

We’re not underachievers, we’re slackers.

There’s a difference.

Bet it tastes like chicken.

A very skinny chicken.

I reckon we'll be blessed with the presence of Bert, aka #4, before too long.
If the military hasn't warned him about hanging out with the likes of this group.

Best to avoid cooking an ortolan bunting in your AF.

I'm a little worried about Bertwert, there are fires near his home. I await a report.

Valid concern. If the Canadian military finds out about his membership of this particular group, it may affect his security clearance and not in a good way.

Because Pentax Supremacists are a known security threat?
I once bid on an FA* 250-600 previously owned by the RCMP. Knowledge of Pentax gear might get him a job.

I have serious trouble imagining forum users to be bad boys.

Now remember, the English invented many sports, exported them and now the foreigners beat them at the games they invented.

Americans are always makin up reasons why they won. They claim to have won the second world war, even though they only fought half of it. There are metrics where the U.S. didn't come close to winning. If you lookout medals divided by population, they didn't win much of anything.

U.S. 331 million 113 medals.
Japan 126 million 58 medals
Canada 38 million 24 medals

Medals per million
1. Canada. .63
2. Japan .46
3. U.S. .34

Why are the Americans such under achievers?
It comes down to the strange properties of the statistics of outliers and extreme points in the distribution resulting from any player at the games being a performance outlier compared with us ordinary mortals.

Some years ago there were a number of ex British MOD Takumar lenses offered on eBay. Apart from the engraved asset numbers on the barrels they were in good used condition. Much better than the defacing of the vanity rings on many coming from US sellers, something to do with a tax dodge for Vietnam veterans.

I did buy one of the US defaced ones, a STak 28/3.5 and found the goo used to obscure the brand washed of easily with meths.

Meths, that is a product it is much harder to buy in England than Australia. In Australia every supermarket has it, along with turps, distilled water and white spirits, all on the same shelf with the basic cleaning chemicals. In England the supermarkets only have the poncy perfumed expensive cleaning products from the chemical factories. To get meths you need to go to certain hardware shops (called DIY shops).

Today I went to Aldi and bought 6 bottles of their distilled vinegar, good household cleaning grade vinegar. Hard to get because they buy vinegar in boxes of a dozen, of which 9 are black malt vinegar and only 3 are distilled. When you get it it is good value at 29p for 500ml. Cheapest other brands are 50p.

Bert the Missing might have more immediate concerns on his file – they may have learned he's a bagpipist.

I think the Canadian Military might have paid for that.
I believe the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry still employs pipers.

But who invented the most important ones? Basketball and Ice Hockey?
