This article in Autocar says that the average assembly line worker in Thailand earned less than £8000 a year and the average in Australia was nearly £43000. That's a big difference.
The real question is productivity per labor hour. I'll bet the Aussies were better trained and had better management; probably better tooling and higher quality control.

But there is a tendency for low labour cost countries to employ people inefficiently, without the equipment to increase production per hour of work. In the 19th century a railway builder with experience in UK and India found the higher paid UK workers got more done so the labour cost per mile was similar in both countries.

Many years ago I heard some US car executives moaning about how it cost more to produce cars in US than China, so they could never be cheaper. I think they were looking at the situation wrong. They should have been asking what quality and features would make customers willing to pay the extra cost of a US made car. Then produce that but forget the race to the bottom to be cheaper, which also cuts margins to result in less profit.

Awesome bertwert, just goes to show, the best camera is the one you have with you.
For sure - but it's well worth the weight to carry my good camera. Like I did on my last adventure yesterday:

(Trying to spend as much time as possible out and about and away from the computer before I get stuck in classes all day again...)

Grilling or roasting it would not have been better for it.

Neither of you have it right. Steaming is what's called for here.

Until it is tender on the outside, but still crisp and crunchy on the inside.

Tender, crisp and crunchy on the outside, all at the same time.

How can that be?
