I see GM will shut down Chevy Camaro production.
Indeed, a sad day for the muscle car.

It makes no sense. It's a very good seller. Weird move by GM.

You’re funny Dave.

Has nothing to do with the capability of the Camaro as a muscle car.

The ever increasing requirement to get more miles out of every drop of fuel, at the lowest possible emissions is what is driving this. The Camaro isn’t the only car to be getting axed. The Mustang and Challenger are also on the road to extinction, at least where the internal combustion engine is concerned.

Well, not exactly.

From a news article regarding the end of production:

"When the current generation Camaro came out in 2016, Chevrolet sold 72,705 of them. But by the end of 2021 that number fell almost 70% to 21,893. It rebounded a bit last year to 24,652."

It would appear that the interest is waning.

Put the drive unit on the other end of the gearing.

I bet the output would be very high.
The force to turn the last gear is probably higher than anything on earth could exert.

I agree. My generation...the baby boomers...are gettin' older.

Yep, at one time I was the perfect candidate (some decades ago) for a Camaro....and make mine the Super Sport 6.2 liter-455 HP V8-6 speed manual transmission. But I've kind of aged out, what with being a septuagenarian.

Not sure my plastic replacement, right shoulder could bang shifts from gear to gear...like I did when I was 18-22 years old.

I do like cars that handle well, accelerate well, brake well...cars that are well balanced performance wise, like the Camaro, Mustang, Challenger. And also the exhaust note at high revs.

I think Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) said it best, when he said a good man has to know his limitations.

But how can they make electricity move faster than 186,000 miles per second?
They cannot, as a matter of fact, the speed through a copper wire and fibre is slower than the speed of light through a vacuum (3×10^8 m/s).

"Signals are transmitted at 2/3 the speed of light in fiber optic cables. In copper it can be faster than that. However, this cannot account for system latency. In longer distance, latency in the fiber optic system is lower because of less need for processing and repeating of the signals. While signals in copper are affected by electromagnetic interference and are prone to higher rates of loss over long distances."

So while the speed through a medium cannot be changed, the time it takes to process the signals in repeaters and routers can. i.e. Quantum processing
