Very strange. Apparently the shooter was a multimillionaire. I find that odd.
No amount of money will cure a wicked black heart.

It is possible that he was no longer a multi-millionaire as a result of his gambling, if it went wrong for a while.

Regardless, it actually sounds like he lived a rather empty life.

I know there's always that slider you have to choose the setting for, with 'Security' at one end and 'Practicality' at the other, but as a hotel customer he managed to get sixteen guns and thousands of rounds of ammo up to his room.

The news has affected me a bit, I'm afraid. I'm not thinking straight.

Indeed it is odd, considering the security of casinos.

It is affecting everyone. With the social media and the many videos from those involved nearly all of us have seen the scene as if we were actually there.

That is having a profound impact on all of us.

I went numb after Sandy Hooks...little innocent kids with heads, arms, legs blown completely off. It can't get worse than that. We did nothing..and my thoughts were, "we will answer for this." Well, we have answered for it many times and Vegas will not be the last time we answer. Serious concern? Where?

Many years ago I discussed the question of a culture based on rights rather than responsibilities with friends.

One problem: if my right for A conflicts with your right for B, whose right trumps?

And secondly, there would be a major change if the emphasis was on our responsibilities as members of society rather than on the rights that society is meant to give us.

We are NOT going to get into a political discussion here. Not even in a masked or coded form.
That's not a request; it's a statement of fact.

A sadness that cannot be easily lifted, even if you wrapped it in bacon and grilled it. Dammit

Just noticed that I have posted 3.72 posts here. Every day for as long as I've been here.

That's almost scary.

I wonder, is there some stats somewhere that shows who's the most talkative in PF?

I'm fairly sure I'm not on top

I've always believed that anyone is free to do as they choose, so long as that pursuit does not interfere with the rights of others.

Simple.

And when followed, perfect.
