Nice one Racer.

Here by us, the run-ups to the Americas Cup races are in full swing. This season's Americas Cup boats are so fast that the officials boats need 3x 350hp outboards to try to keep up!
Now I know this isn't the Americas Cup, but when my son visited NZ he went for an inboard ride. He enjoyed it. Think the speedboat had a big Chevy V8 , that propelled the passengers through a twisting waterway at intemperate speeds.

He likes intemperate speeds.

Minus several by now probably...

Mrs. Racer’s plane landed 4 minutes ago. She should be walking towards me momentarily.

It will be nice to not sleep alone tonight.

Jetboats. Originally used in shallow waterways. (No prop to damage)

I just finished listening to Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas Album.
It ALMOST got me in the spirit.

I might get the Christmas spirit by March. And I strongly dislike Christmas music.

Especially this song:

I will happily nuke each and everyone who had anything to do with the creation, marketing, promotion, sales, recording, catering for or any other endeavour related in any small way with that abomination.

I am heading to GA for Christmas, and it looks as if the snow is following.

Had a pleasant surprise today. As I was driving to the airport to pick up Mrs. Racer, my phone rang. The caller ID indicated the call was from the land line at my house.

Wait, what?

There is no one at my house.

So I answered, and it was the oldest grandson. Seems the US Army let him have Christmas and New Year's off, and he made his way to Washington from Fort Benning, Georgia.

He surprised us for sure, as he had told us they weren't going to let anyone go home for the holidays.

The Army has made a fine young man of him too.

I have a 19 foot Eliminator, 460 Ford, Berkeley water jet. Tops out around 75, 80 or so. The pump needs rebuilt, the boat should be capable of upwards of 100 or so.
