You'll be delighted to know in this case you're absolutely right!

Vegemite tastes a bit like Newcastle Brown Ale.

I used to drink Newcastle Brown Ale, in fact at one time it was my favourite alcoholic beverage.

So Savoche, maybe knowing this, that vegemite might be worth a try for you.

Now, I haven't tried vegemite yet, but I've been doing some thinking....... if you try it first and don't suffer any untoward or ill effects....let me know, and I might risk it...... and give it a shot.

You could be like a 'Royal taster' or something.

Is it, kind of like 'pate' ? I like that, not too much as it is quite rich.

Yes. In the same way as men are similar to women.

I've tried Vegemite and Marmite. One of them I rather liked, the other was a much stronger taste. Too strong. I don't remember which was which.

Indeed.
A little goes a long way.
The further away the better as far as I am concerned! - like Marmite (SWMBO likes it, I don't)!

Which is definitely an "aquired" - and then soon "de-aquired"! - taste

Mmmm, Marmite! Beans on toast with a little spread of butter and Marmite before dumping the beans on. Then there’s banana and Marmite sandwiches: mash the banana with a fork, spread the Marmite on the bread and then layer the banana on top. Careful putting the second piece of bread on and then biting into it, ‘cos it’s very squishy! Talk about sweet and sour!

I drank Newcastle Brown, once. I had four and thought, ‘oh, this is innocuous...’ and then I fell over.

While on the subject of yucky food, pineapple on pizza isn't the most disliked, it's anchovies.
Pineapple came in at #5, eggplant #2, artichokes #3, and broccoli #4.
I do like a few artichoke hearts on pizza. Eggplant, in any form, is a waste of precious space in or on anything.

I have it on my breakfast toast almost every morning.

And have done for more than 50 years!

Looking at the jar, I see it now contains vegans. I did not know that! So you learn something new every day!

The only thing on your list I've never tried on pizza, and never will, is broccoli.

As for eggplant: What about a lovely, traditional moussaka? Mmmmmm.

Never had it, but looking at the ingredient list, I would try it. Looks like the other stuff will kill what little taste eggplant has.

Hooh boy. I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but here it goes anyway..................................
Technically, by definition, I'm an omnivore but I lean heavily toward the carnivore end of the scale. I LOVE meat. Any meal I eat has to have meat as the star; with one exception.
Eggplant, for me, is an acceptable (the only acceptable) substitute. Not just acceptable, but welcomed. Breaded and fried, or brushed with olive oil and grilled.

Mrs. P makes that occasionally and it's one of my favorite dishes. Meat AND eggplant. It doesn't get much better than that!
(Well, except for properly boiled ribs and grilled eggplant, that is.)
