My son's Subaru does that. It would drive me nuts.
He can turn the feature of, and often does, but it has to be turned off every time you start the vehicle. It can't be turned off permanently.
It drives me nuts too. The thing that bugs me..is it affects my 'launch' off the line, when the light turns green.

I can't turn mine off. At this point I'm resigned to starting it up about 5 seconds before the green light.

I guess it idles for a while before deciding to shut off, those times add up. It certainly helps to save fuel though.
Mine doesn't idle very long. I come to a stop and it generally shuts off it seems in about 4-5 seconds. Think it's set up to stay on that long, in case I'm just at a stop sign. At most, I think testing (not by me, by engineers) indicated maybe a 1 MPG or so saved in a tankful.

Does anyone make winter tyres for Teslas?
No problem I would think. Believe they use standard wheels, similar to other auto makers, so there would be lots of choice of tires for Teslas.

If it's that coid, I'll put my wife into it (SUV) and get her to warm up the engine and interior. If the SUV is outside, I just use my remote starter. Either way, it would be pretty painless for yours truly.*

I know you meant cold, and it's all I can do to keep from rearranging those last 4 words.

What I say or don't say to Mrs. P depends very much on whether or not she's within hearing range.
It's not always foolproof though. I can ask a routine question or make a general statement in a normal speaking volume from 10 feet away and she won't hear it, or acknowledge it, anyway. Make a snide comment under my breath from 10 yards away and wow! It gets "acknowledged."

We all have that problem Jim.

Also I sometimes say something, or ask an innocent question, Mrs. Racer misunderstands it, and then I spend half the day trying to convince her she misunderstood me.

Women.

Can't live with them, can't live without them.

I know what 'acknowledged ' means in married men code.

And for some reason...they call women the weaker sex.

Yes, I get that too, but Mrs. P has refined that to an art. She regularly, while I'm in mid sentence, responds to what she thinks I'm going to say. On rare, very rare, occasions she gets it right.

I really, REALLY hope she never reads any of this.

When T does that she goes on for so long correcting what she thinks I was going to say, I've usually forgotten what I was trying to say before she finishes.

What can flip me out is a woman trying to tell me what I actually meant by what I said.
I meant what I said and said what I meant.

Ended up getting married to a Finn last summer. When I mess up, the language barrier card gets played right-away, she usually buys it
