I noticed here in UK there are many food products that do not even state what country they are from.
What type of food products? I am pretty sure Tesco have the country of origin on the label. Maybe the ones that don't are from the UK but the beef I bought today was from Scotland.

Country of origin is required by law in the U.S.

I am sure it is here as well. In fact there were concerns that meat from the USA like chlorine washed chicken might be allowed after Brexit with no labels showing the origin to disguise it as British chicken

Always.

Except when I support some faraway producer, that is.

Hmm, and it was -13°C here this morning. Winter might be coming after all. That doesn't happen every year.

The bloody darkness arrives like clockwork, though. Bah.

Try the aged and smoked. (I get it at Costco now.) But you're in Kingston right? The Balderson factory is an hour away just outside Perth. Day trip?
I've tried a couple of them, also acquired from Costco I believe - better than most cheap cheese at the store, and not too expensive if I recall correctly...

Still in BC as of now, but come January I'll be over that way. Maybe an idea for a day trip, if I incredulously find myself without any work to do

It hit 70F here today. That's about 30-40 degrees above normal.

And here it seems like spring. 8°C above and pouring rain. We had nearly two feet deep snow not long ago, now it's barely six inches...

We went to Kristiansand on the ferry from North Shields (Newcastle) many years ago in January. After seeing the temperatures were well below zero I bought my partner some thermal underwear. When we got there the temperature was actually warmer than the UK at just above zero.
We ate in our hotel in the evening and bought a very expensive bottle of Italian wine (expensive because it was Norway not because the wine was good) and when the waiter opened the bottle he tasted it himself so we didn't even get to drink the whole bottle . That is the only time in my life I have ever seen the waiter taste the wine.

Makes a simply ghastly mess of the bowl too.
