I found this thread on the Weber Grill forum announcing Bob's passing. Thought I would post it here for those who would like to read it.

Thanks for posting that link.
Bob was as well liked and respected on that forum as he is here. While not posting in this thread much, I read it regularly, and always got a chuckle from his quick witted posts. I have exchanged a few PM's with him over the years, and found him to be just as humourous and warm-hearted in private as he showed in public.

R.I.P. Bob.

He is the second regular contributor to the thread, Rupert and Bob 1, to leave. Both suffered a similar kind of final illness and both were regular contributors and fairly active until a short time before.

My view while enjoying a coffee one morning in Costa Rica. Glamping in a yurt in the rain forest.

Well, Charlie, looks like you had the life of Riley down there.

Our son and his girlfriend love glamping in yurts. They have been in a few, one in the Duck Mountains, another by the Lake of the Woods, another in BC. They plan to go to another one , north of the 53rd parallel, this summer.

I've often wondered how waterproof a yurt is.

That’s why they’re pitched in hotel grounds - so the glampers have somewhere to go when the rain starts.

When they are covered in skins, I have no doubt that they are waterproof.
The fashionable ones used in western countries, I think mostly covered in canvas, I guess it depends on the quality of the canvas and whether or not one touches the wet canvas.

This must be the largest thread on the internet. I just thought I would add one line to increase my post count as well.
