Beautiful car. I see this one has the V8, which was a Buick derived engine. Rover did a lot of good things with this engine.
I never had either the Rover or Buick V8, but for almost 14 years we had the Buick 90 degree V6, which itself, was derived from this original small Buick V8 .
The Buick 3.8 liter V6 was a fabulous engine, very long lived (from early '60's to 2009) in production, regarded by Wards as one of top engines of the 20th century. Used in carbureted, fuel injected, turbo and supercharged form, raced, used in Jeeps for a period...as their 'big' engine.
Our Buick V6 had great low rpm and mid range rpm punch..a very torquey engine. In a weak moment I traded our '07 Buick LaCrosse in...something I have regretted since I did. It was reliable, durable, powerful, quiet....and our 6 passenger Buick sedan was quiet, extremely comfortable..a wonderful car, that I still wish I had.
