Spent a couple of hours cutting overgrown stuff, mainly ivy, from the fence at my car park. Reduce the over hang and dirt to fall on the car and improve the light there. Looks better. Got caught in the eye by a twig but that is mostly better now. So not too bad. Filled a 240lt bin with cut up bits, so fairly dense and heavy. Next fortnight I can do some more when the rubbish people have emptied the bin.

No, I saw Racer more as a Rocker than a Mod: on a Harley instead of a Vespa. Thanks for the laugh.
Well you won’t see Racer on a GS scooter with his hair cut neat.

This would be closer to my current style tastes, except I would want a fender on the front tire.

Mom’s neighbor sent me a text message Thursday morning. Seems a bear had wandered onto mom’s property and got into some bee hives that were stored in an open shed. The hives had been active, but the colonies had died out. For whatever reason mom had not removed the comb, and this wayward bear came along looking for a snack.

I was going to go out this morning and clean things up, but the bear came back again Friday morning, and the neighbor sent more pictures.

So I went directly there after work Friday and worked at cleaning up the mess until after 8 pm.

It was a bit tricky picking up the broken frames with honey laden comb, while the bees were busy robbing honey.

But I got it done.

Racer, if your 70s Japanese car is too much of a gas guzzler then it is time to get a 50-100cc motor bike, maybe even with step through styling. They are usually pretty good on fuel and because of their smallness much easier to park really near the door of the place you are going.
I don't consider 17 to 20 miles to the gallon bad for a high performance sports car.

And gas mileage isn't everything.

Typically £1.60 per litre for petrol, £1.78 per litre for diesel. I should get around 40-44 miles per Imperial gallon of diesel tomorrow on the long run to see my brother and family – four of us in the car.
So diesel is a bit over four bucks a gallon (US gallon). You are doing better than we are at the moment.

I wish it was $4/US gallon here. I make £1.78/ litre equivalent to around $5.3/US gallon.

I’ll have to go back and check my math. Math has never been one of my better skills.

I used a converter to tell me how many liters in a US gallon, then multiplied the cost per liter by that number.

Still, you are paying less than we are currently, diesel when I filled the Ram the other day was almost six bucks a gallon.

Actually I did the pound to dollar conversion wrong, now I get $8.41/ US gallon

Well then, I guess we can't complain about six bucks a gallon then.

Can we.

Wait.

We're still running double what we were, so yeah, I'm gonna gripe.

Just think of all the money you saved in the years when it was really cheap

I got my driver's license, in 1965. I had two bikes, a motor scooter, and a 125cc motorcycle. Both 2 stroker single cylinders.

Regular gas, which back then was measured using the British Imperial gallon up here, cost me 26 cents Canadian per gallon. I had a job...one day a week...which paid me about $ 1.75 an hour....and I worked 8 hours.

I was a high school student.

Now, as I speak, gas costs me $ 1.87 CAD per liter.
