I’ve never won anything in a lottery, ever. All these years and not a single red cent to show for it. Someone suggested buying a ticket would improve my chances but it’s like voting: it only encourages ‘em.

Same here, why waste time acquiring a taste for something foul when you can use that time to drink something with a pleasant taste and aroma!

That’s exactly why I enjoy coffee. Ice cream? A creamy rum and raisin with proper raisins and a drop of black rum! Summer’s coming!

This brings to mind a question I've had, well, forever. I have always assumed the people of Scotland are Scots; but what about things? Scotch vs Scot vs Scottish. e.g. is haggis a Scottish dish, a Scot dish, or a Scotch dish? Is something a Scotch tradition, or Scot, or Scottish?
I wonder where butter scotch fits into all this? Bugs1

I saw a betting shop called Ladbroke. They called it that because that is where to go if you want to gawk at broke lads.

There’s always one! Butterscotch is a single word and some think the name derives from an ingredient of scotched or scorched butter. We jist like oor sweeties!

I learned today that a racing legend has passed.

https://racer.com/2022/3/24/joe-huffaker-1927-2022/

I knew him from his sports car accomplishments, but he contributed to so much more, including fielding innovative cars at Indianapolis for the annual 500 mile race.

Like this twin engined entry that used Porsche power.

RIP Joe.

That sounds yum!

I might add that, as a Saffa, I eat hot cross buns with cheese. Kiwis find that incredibly strange. They usually eat hot cross buns with either just butter, or with cream. Which, of course, is stranger than strange.

I'm rather fond of single malt peat bog juice!
Welcome to the bog juice club!

Give someone a taste of one of the Islay malts and you'll find out whether they actually like scotch or if they just claim to because they think it's trendy and sophisticated.
There are five Scotch Whisky regions - Campbeltown, Highland, Islay, Lowland and Speyside.
Campbeltown malt: I've never tried any, to my knowledge.
Speyside malts: Similar to Islay and are an acceptable alternative.
Islay malts: I like to think that sinks in places like Shangri-la, Valhalla, and Heaven have three taps; Hot, Cold, and Ardbeg. Rays of sunshine held together by water.
Highland and Lowland malts: The Budweiser of scotch. <ducking for cover now>

I have business plan of selling out of date Powerball tickets. I would sell them for half price. That way you are out a lot less money and the odds of winning are almost the same.
