To each their own but in my narrow-minded world, Blackforest cake is an abomination!! Why would anyone in their right (or left) mind, want to sully perfectly wonderful and delicious chocolate cake with jam. JAM!

<rant=disable>

If there's jam in your black forest cake, you're making it wrong. It should contain a filling of delicious cherries and kirsch.

Another jar of honey arrived at the weekend, followed by an anxious message some time later - someone picked up the wrong jar. It’s rhododendron honey and dangerously trippy especially if driving!!

Ah well….

edit: it’s called mad honey. Not good.

Isn’t trippy when driving exactly what you need so you do not end up where you started like racing car drivers?

It's more than dangerously trippy. Have too much of it and you're looking at cardiac arrest.

Sounds a bit like dragon fruit, which reduces blood pressure, but can cause palpitations. Also used by young women for weight loss. I guess it is a nicer way to control weight than smoking, used for that purpose by young women in Singapore.

Pretty sure a traditional Black Forest Gateau doesn't have any jam in it. The classic Victoria Sponge has a lot though.

Cherries, kirsch, cherries and kirsch, all very jammy and disconcerting .....nope! I am a purist when it comes to my chocolate gateau....so Blackforest cake is not for me...

I'll drink to that! Probably not bourbon, but I'll drink to it.

Remind me what the result was

Had to look it up on the Beeb website.

Since Mark referred to something related to the greeting question Mahatma Gandhi asked routinely, I think his answer would now be negative. He not suffering paroxysms of delight on account of the black caps nor the other matter.

For those left wondering, the home team won. The black caps cannot now redeem themselves with a series draw.
