All this on a day when the match had reasonable probability of all four possible match results.

You could have attended free of charge as well. Would have been a good day out.

Oh, good to know. I do not own any....any recommendations on a nice house bourbon?
Anything that isn't so cheap it sucks, but not so expensive you regret paying for it.

I've had Makers Mark a few times, and like it.

Or maybe its the red sealing wax every bottle has.

I'll drink to that! Probably not bourbon, but I'll drink to it.
Me too.

Is bourbon to whiskey as budweiser is to beer?

I have recently found a solution for ear drops (for mites) for the cat:
1. Pretend to pick up cat to give a cuddle.
2. Cuddle for a little bit.
3. Gently place cat on a large old towel.
4. Continue to cuddle cat on large towel.
5. When cat appears relaxed, quickly tightly wrap cat in towel so that only the head protrudes.
5A. When I say "tightly" I mean about the same "tightly" as a year old jar of preserves. Don't be fooled and do it less tightly than that, because, if you do, the cat will manage to get it's legs out. Not too tight though, or the head will come off the cat. If you break your cat I take no responsibility.
6. Stay away from the bitey end.
7. Place eardrops in ears.
8. Swiftly unwrap cat, still avoiding mouth and claws. (Welders gloves are handy for this part.)
9. Throw away shredded towel.
10. Sleep with one eye open.

Not at all, Tim, it’s the perfect way to unwind after bathing a cat. Happily, we don’t have cats.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

WORLD ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS DAY - June 15, 2022 - National Today

Be kind and respectful to your elders. Without them you wouldn’t be here.

Besides, they have earned the respect and kindness that we all should be giving them.

Wouldn't "Elder Abuse Day" be a very different thing from "Elder Abuse Awareness Day"?

I have never tried it but a friend is a big fan. He basically said the same thing as Racer....there's great bourbon....and there is very bad bourbon. Kinda like a scotch drinker would never buy Black&White....

And they are damned interesting to talk to. This is our 87 year old neighbour Yoko. She left her home in Lethbridge, Alberta in her 20s with her husband and moved here so her Engineer husband could work at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories just down the road. Since then she raised two boys, camped and canoed all over the country, travelled all over the world, and to this day, still does all the gardening around her property, walks into town, and volunteers at the local library.

Unfortunately her husband passed just before we moved to Deep River but she still talks about him with a fondness that brings a tear to my eye. I wish I could have met him.

I try to talk to her every day as she is full of fantastic stories and insight. Recently she fell at the grocery store and split open the skin on her knee. Of course I chastised her for skateboarding down the main street again, and in the same breath, made sure she knew that Nic and I could be count on to help in any way we can during her recovery.

So I celebrate this day with the luck at knowing such a great person.
