Well, and she was 47 when she bore him.

Good reading. Years ago, I took some pictures of an Aston-Martin. The owner asked me if I would like to drive it, as repayment.

Boy did I want to, but I didn't. I thought ...what if I wrote it off, by trying to emulate James Bond, and that would only be either Sean Connery or Roger Moore...the only true Bonds

It is a question that I still wrassle with. Should I have taken the guy up on his offer and driven the Aston Martin...or not. Think it will bug me to the end of my time .

Question to members of this thread.

Should Les of taken the Aston Martin for a spin ?

Discuss.
Yes, Les should have!

Well last week, Canada's tire store had a smokin' deal on a rebadged Miller MIG/Flux Core welder. It was $400 off bringing the price down to an almost disposable level of $235. Since I had this amount and more saved up in that store's money, I got the welder and a helmet for nothing!

Wow, I can't believe I waited 61 years to try this out...so much fun!

Have you ever welded before Charlie?

Better question, have you ever welded using a wire feed welder and flux cored wire?

I tried welding with flux cored wire once, a very long time ago.

I’m still cussing that machine.

Wear long trousers and sleeves or you will find you get sunburned while inside.

And gauntlets, just leather, not the medieval armoured ones.

I have soldered lots but never welded at all, stick, MIG, TIG, Flux core; nothing.

I actually had a blast with the flux core....meant to only try the machine and ended up wasting a whole day welding everything in sight.

First and last welds of the day. (sorry, could not figure out how to imbed these images in here)

Yup, fully clothed, no flip flops, proper leather welding gloves, and auto-darkening helmet, plastic not medieval armoured one.

Well the second picture does show improvement over the first.

What is that you are practicing on? A brake drum?

Practice will improve the work over time. Keep at it.

Also try joining two pieces of steel together. Then try to break the weld.

A brake disk. And yes and yes. I joined a bunch of stuff end to end and on a 90 degree. I also welded a nut to the brake disk and pounded it with a large ballpeen. It did come off but took quite a few whollops.

I learned much in that one day! But yes, much more practice and learning required.

NATIONAL GARAGE CONDO DAY - September 21, 2022 - National Today

So celebrate that special place where every hardcore car person can retreat to hang with their cars and car stuff.

In know guy who has one of those,. Not on that scale though. He keeps his RV trailer, his 1969 Olds and a 1957 T-Bird in there. Original owner built in kitchen and a bedroom to sleep in. The truck to tow the camper too. He can park his daily drive in there too. He worked at a customer's place and showed it to me one day during lunch. Took me to see it in his T-Bird.

Sometimes you just need a good belly laugh. This guy had a Youtube channel where he mainly posts about things like taking his kids camping, hiking or fishing or hunting etc. But has made a few epic fun videos too.

What a peculiar place to have the hoist! I wonder if the image is photoshopped?
